As you will quickly notice, an index was omitted from the layout of this guide. This decision was solely that of the publisher and occurred without the knowledge of the authors (indeed we were told Stackpole would be including one). Since an index in a "birder's guide" is very helpful from a "where might I find it" point of view, we decided to make our own and include them here for download. There are only two blank pages in the entire book (the inside of both the front and back covers), so there is only room to "paste" two indices each comprising only a single page. This necessitates making each index rather general -- not every mention of a bird group or site are listed, just the primary page. Below we produce an index to birding sites and another to bird groups (Ducks, Swallows, etc.) that you can print and trim to fit in these parts of the guidebook. Laminating them will perhaps give them added durability! A comprehensive, standard index as found in other "birder's guides" may be produced and offered here if user interest warrants. It will be several pages long. Let us know (email: stacy@trochilids.com).
